On Openness

It has been a while since I blogged, but I am back!

At our last meeting we talked about Openness...What does Openness mean to us?

I was reading online and found these words usually associated with the word Openness: willingness, readiness, an attitude of ready accessibility...

Are we open to the possibility of being healthy and leaving bad habits behind, are we open to change, to trust, to ask for help, to keep trying even though we might have failed...?
I know sometimes it seems like we want to but can't or don't know how...and sometimes, it is that we do not want to...

If you think you can't, remember the strength it takes to keep up an eating disorder! you are strong! Imagine what it would be like if you used all of your strength towards your recovery!

If you don't know how, be open, ask for help...you don't have to do it alone!

and sometimes, we do not want to get better...if that is the case, admit it, acknowledge it as where you are at right now, but remember it is not the place where you have to stay...food is not the issue, it is just a symptom...ask yourself "Why?" work with your support system, your doctor(s), therapist, family and friends...figure out and deal with the why, so you can move on and say yes to recovery....

Recovery is possible!

See you this Sunday.

Lily
