The Measure of Our Days: A Spiritual Exploration of Illness by Jerome Groopman, M.D.
Dr. Jerome Groopman is also the Author of The Anatomy of Hope: How People Prevail in the Face of Illness. This one is also on my reading list.

okay, so I LOVE Jerome Groopman! Measure of Our Days is an EXCELLENT book, one that I read when I get discouraged about working in oncology. The Anatomy of Hope - when a mentor of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago, I found this book, and long after I finished it, I carried it around in my bag for weeks because it was just that good, and gave me hope.
